Description: This school is based on the complete separation of the building systems (Waterproofing: the roof, Program: the modular classrooms, and Circulation: the floor. The continuous roof and floor along with the mechanical services allow for the classrooms to constantly transform and reconfigure themselves. The classrooms can be re-organized to cater to unconventional teaching methods. The fragmented layout of the classrooms promotes an individual identity for each unique function of the school while still maintaining an unobstructed circulation system between them. The floor follows the existing topography and the roof remains flat, generating varying room heights for different programs. This simple layout coupled with a diagrammatic approach to color-coding the design enables immediate orientation as you enter the building.
